LifeChain2_inlineNEBRASKA CITY, Neb.—First Baptist Church participated in Life Chain Sunday as a peaceful, silent protest against abortion. Approximately 100 people, including members of First Baptist, showed up on Oct. 4 to hold signs and pray.

Life Chain, according to its website, “is a peaceful and prayerful public witness of pro-life individuals standing for 90 minutes praying for our nation and for an end to abortion. It is a visual statement of solidarity by the Christian community that abortion kills children and that the Church supports the sanctity of human life from the moment of conception until natural death.”

Signs included the statements “Lord, Forgive Us and Our Nation,” “Jesus Heals and Forgives,” “Abortion Hurts Women,” and “Pray for an End to Abortion.” The back of the signs held suggested Scripture passages, songs, and prayers for silent meditation.
