DanielsRoad3_inlineFORT MYERS, Fla.—Daniels Road Baptist Church celebrated its 50th anniversary with a special Sunday morning service and lunch. Members shared praises and testimonies and heard a message from Chris Hindal. He was pastor of the church from 1994 to 2006 and is now director of GARBC International Ministries.

“Over the last 50 years many lives have been impacted by the ministry of DRBC,” the church says. “It is a joy to celebrate God’s faithfulness and we look forward to reaching out to our community for many years to come.”

Erik Bennett is currently pastor of the church, having served since 2009.

Daniels Road Baptist Church ministers to every age in its church but also reaches its community through its Soul Food Pantry. About 100 families in the area receive food each Friday from this ministry of the church. (Read “Food Pantry Feeds Body and Soul” and “Church Distributes Food for Body and Soul.”) In April, the church began a “Spreading the Love” campaign to collect jars of peanut butter and jelly. The purpose was to stock the food pantry’s shelves so that when students on free or reduced lunch programs were home from school for the summer, they would have food to eat. In all, 600 jars were donated.
