Johnson_inlineGRINNELL, Iowa—Calvary Baptist Church installed Craig Johnson as pastor. The installation service on Feb. 7 was filled with thanksgiving to God for His hand in guiding Craig and Marcia Johnson to Calvary Baptist Church.

Miles Grismore, interim pastor, opened the service with prayer and later gave a charge to the new pastor. Tim Capon, state representative of the Iowa Association of Regular Baptist Churches, gave the charge to the congregation.

Prior to accepting the pastorate in Grinnell, Craig had been pastor of Indianola Regular Baptist Church since August 1997. A graduate of Faith Baptist Bible College and Northwest Baptist Seminary, Craig was also pastor of Bible Baptist Church, Rantoul, Illinois, in the early 80’s; assistant pastor of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Seattle from 1984 to 1989; and pastor of First Baptist Church, Yarmouth, Iowa, from 1989 to 1997.

To encourage the Johnsons during their time of transition, Calvary Baptist Church showered the couple with gift cards. The church family is thankful to be celebrating God’s provision of a new pastor, and the congregation’s joy in arriving at this special day was evident.
