Church Marks End of Summer with Community Carnival

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio—More than 375 people attended First Baptist Church’s End of Summer Carnival. The carnival included games, prizes, music, crafts, face painting, a bounce house, and food, including popcorn and cotton candy. Kids also received goodie bags containing school supplies, treats, and an invitation to the church’s worship services.

Five families from the carnival attended the worship service the next day, and one man professed Christ as his Savior. The church is now following up with families who attended the carnival. “We’re praying that they will attend our worship services this fall,” says Pastor Tom Mullins.

First Baptist Church is in its first year of church revitalization efforts after receiving one of the first Lift Up grants from Regular Baptist Builders Club. To aid its revitalization, the church has formed three teams: Outreach, Hospitality, and Discipleship. The carnival, a free event for the church and community, was the second of three events that the outreach team has planned for the year.
