Empire Youth Seminars: Unshackled!

By March 25, 2010July 16th, 2014No Comments

“Wow! What a weekend!” reports Empire State Fellowship of Regular Baptist Churches representative Craig Golden. Teens from 106 churches enthusiastically considered the theme “Unshackled: The Truth Will Set You Free” during the Empire State Fellowship’s 2010 Youth Seminars.

Churches in four cities across the state—Marilla, Horseheads, Norwich, and Poughkeepsie—hosted the event, featuring speakers Andy Giessman, Mark Shaw, Dan Dark, and Dave Whitcher. Thirty-six teachers taught relevant workshops, including “Free to Transform,” “Free to Think,” “Free to Impact,” “Free to Lead,” and “Free to Grow Up.”

In addition, 300 youth leaders attended sessions communicating the how-to’s of working effectively with youth. Wacky games, thought-provoking videos, super singing, and good grub rounded out the weekend. As a project to help inmates, the teens gave an offering of $3,168 to Almond Tree Ministries, which will provide study manuals for helping prisoners become unshackled from sin.

As a Bible conference, the Youth Seminars help Christian teens practically apply God’s Word to today’s issues and reach their peers for Christ. Craig Golden says, “It is an awesome sight to see auditoriums full of young people and to experience their zeal for life and God!”
