Make a Difference in Haiti!

Chris Hindal, director of GARBC International Ministries, shares the following need:

An alternative building method for Haitian churches, proposed by a missions team returning from Haiti, uses bags of earth laced with barbed wire rather than concrete blocks. This method has several advantages, as it enables structures to better withstand earthquakes, uses on-site materials, and employs Haitians.

GARBC International Ministries is collecting money to assist in purchasing building materials and generators and in digging wells for Haiti. The hiring of nationals would enable the Haitians to have work and a source of income, and would equip them with skills they can use on other projects. Could your church take a special offering for the churches of Haiti? Make the check payable to International Ministries with memo “Emergency Relief” and mail to 1300 North Meacham Road, Schaumburg, IL 60173.
