NATIONAL REPRESENTATIVE SEARCH UPDATE
The Council of Eighteen National Representative search committee is making good progress. Thank you for praying for the search process and for the Lord’s preparation in the heart of a candidate. As part of the 2018 GARBC Conference, a national representative candidate will be presented and churches will have an opportunity to participate in a Q and A with him. The churches will vote regarding the candidate’s confirmation during the association’s annual business meeting during the conference week. Announcement will be made of the National Representative candidate in the May/June issue of the Baptist Bulletin. Let’s together pray much as we seek God’s will for the position of National Representative.

2018 GARBC CONFERENCE: A LANDMARK EVENT!
Be part of history! In addition to enjoying special messages by Thomas White, Steve Pettit, Michael Wilburn, Duke Crawford, David Gunn, and John Greening, 2018 GARBC conferees will be voting regarding the confirmation of a candidate for the position of national representative. If you haven’t made plans to attend the 2018 GARBC Conference, reserve the dates of June 26–29 on your calendar, and start making your conference/vacation itinerary. Don’t miss this opportunity to combine spiritual renewal, family programming, and good fellowship. Register now to receive the early bird discount for the conference!

COUNCIL NOMINATIONS DUE MARCH 16
Make your voice heard! Men elected to the GARBC Council of Eighteen represent our churches and have direct influence on our association’s future. All churches have equal voting privileges, no matter the church size.  Please nominate pastors and ministry leaders to be placed on the ballot. Represent your area of the country by submitting nominations for the Council of Eighteen online, by fax (847.843.3757), or by e-mail. Download a nomination form. Nominations are due March 16.

RB CHURCH PLANTING NEWS
Clare Jewell, national coordinator for RB Church Planting, gives the following church planting updates:

  • March will be a critical month as we look to finalize partnerships with regional HUB churches across the country to help develop church leaders and facilitate church planting. Also, we are finalizing plans to help churches with a revitalization process. Please pray for both processes to be completed by the end of March.
  • Our most critical need is to raise funds for The Timothy Project, a program designed to raise up and equip church planters. Our goal is to place 10 interns into residency programs each year in partnership with local churches and seminaries. We are praying for partners to contribute one time, annual, or monthly gifts to help fund this effort.

CHAPLAINCY IN THE STATEHOUSE
Can there be good news about the government? Yes! Read about the spiritual influence and prayer efforts of Chaplain Pam Russell in her ministry at the Indiana State House in “Women’s Statehouse Day Encourages Government Leaders.” Without your giving, Regular Baptist Chaplaincy cannot send chaplains to answer the chaplaincy call. TALENTS FOR CHRIST: REGISTER NOW
Involving teens in Talents For Christ is a win for them! Participating in the TFC experience helps teens grow in their confidence, develop their talents, expand their commitment to serving Christ, and enhance their spiritual walk. Consider bringing a vocal group or drama team to this year’s national competition on June 28 at Hamilton Hills Church in Indianapolis. Individuals and groups can participate in scholarship or open (non-scholarship) competitions. State registration deadlines are approaching! Register for scholarship, state open, and state group competitions. In addition to Appalachian Bible College, Clarks Summit University, Piedmont International University, and Shasta Bible College, two additional colleges are offering TFC scholarships this year, Bob Jones University and Maranatha Baptist University. If you live in a state that does not have a state competition, you still can qualify for national competition. See TFC registration for details.

RBP RESOURCES STRENGTHEN CHURCHES IN INDIA
After a two-week trip to India, Chris Hindal, director of RB International, reports:

Indian churches are extremely grateful and very dependent upon Regular Baptist Press Sunday School and Vacation Bible School curriculum.  Two years of the children’s Sunday school curriculum have been translated into Telugu. They are ready to translate Vacation Bible School materials into their heart language as well. City churches with a few more resources are planting churches in the surrounding villages. Many of the village churches need buildings or need to finish partially constructed buildings.  Though they recognize the risk of persecution, they serve valiantly. Gifts toward buildings should be marked, “Asian Projects.”
