Students Alive!
Good times! Good friends! Good Bible study! Students Alive! is an event that your youth group won’t want to miss. Get a caravan together and join teens from across the nation for a great Annual Conference teen program. Better yet, pull the youth group together to enter one of the numerous TFC group competitions during the week—drama, puppets, duets, or vocal and instrumental ensembles. Led by Lance Augsburger, Students Alive! points teens to serving Christ at home, school, and in the community. Register your youth group! Be part of an exciting Students Alive! youth rally on Wednesday, June 24. Enjoy afternoon activities and an evening worship service. Sign up under “Youth Activities” on the Conference registration form.
Students Alive! Schedule
Monday:
6:30pm – 9:00pm ; Welcome Fun and Bonfire
Get to know some other GARB students at a fantastic time of fun games, a cookout, a bonfire, singing and a message from Baptist Church Planters Missionary David Witcher!
Tuesday:
9:00am – 10:00am; Morning Session
Come hear about some exciting missions opportunities and be challenged from God’s Word with Baptist Mid-Missions President Dr. Gary Anderson, and Brother Steve Fulks.
4:45pm- 7:00pm; Love Thy Neighborhood, There’s a new attitude in town!
Make an impact in the community and help us go door to door to reach people. Lunch is provided!
7:00pm – 8:30pm; Evening Session
Another great opportunity to hang out with your fellow GARB students and hear the preaching of God’s Word! Pastor Patrick Odle, the student body chaplain at Faith Baptist Bible College, will be speaking.
Wednesday:
9:00am – 10:00am; Morning Session
The Director of Admissions at Baptist Bible College, Andy Giessman, will be speaking in this session.
3:00pm – 9:00pm; Youth Rally!
Have some fun with GARB students as well as students from the local churches at Swings-n-Things! There are all sorts of great activities to do, like: Go-carts, bumper boats, laser tag, mini-golf, and more! The Rally speaker is Pastor Mike Augsburger from Willow Creek Baptist Church in West Des Moines, Iowa. Bring your friends for a great time of singing, fun, and preaching! Dinner is provided!
Thursday:
9:00am – 10:45am; Morning Session
Dr. John Greening, the GARBC National Representative, will bring a great challenge from God’s Word to kick off the Talents for Christ competition!
6:30pm – 9:00pm; Evening Session
Students Alive will meet with the General Session tonight to hear Dr. Kevin Bauder, President of Central Seminary, preach from God’s Word.
Friday:
9:00am – 10:00am; Morning Session
Everyone will meet together for this final session. Time to say goodbye until next year!
Student Service Award
Nominate a high school senior from your youth group to receive a Student Service Award. The awards will be given to students who demonstrate outstanding Christian character and service at home, at church, and in the community. Service Opportunities for Teens
Serve churches and camps in need! Give your teens the opportunity to assist ministries in Ohio by planning a missions trip before or after the 2009 GARBC Conference, Elyria, OH, June 22-26.
