Young Baptist Pastors and their families enjoy a good time of food and camaraderie at Yanni’s Restaurant in Ankeny, Iowa, during the GARBC Annual Conference. Over sixty people enjoyed the launch event for this new group. The Young Pastors group is forming a network of ministry colleagues for providing mutual encouragement and ministry help and for promoting increased involvement in the GARBC among pastors under forty. Young pastors also participated in an Engaging Young Pastors in Our Fellowship workshop during the Conference week. The group will be making future plans, including a get-together at next year’s Annual Conference in Elyria, Ohio. Consider networking with this group. Rumor is that “old guys” can join them as well. Our leadership team was contemplating, should we cancel the Conference or go forward? If we canceled, we would miss the benefits of our annual family fellowship. If we went forward, where would we locate? Increasingly it became obvious that Cedar Rapids would not be “back in business” sufficiently by the Conference dates. (Read more of this article…)
