A letter came to Baptist churches in England and Wales asking them to send representatives to a meeting in London in 1677 to draw up a confession of faith “for the information and satisfaction of those that did not thoroughly understand what our principles were, or had entertained prejudices against our profession.”

The result is this work, which has just been reprinted in an attractive pocket-size format. Only minor alterations to spelling, punctuation, and proof texts were made. The work shows that Baptist principles adhered to in the 1600s are still in play in fundamental Baptist churches today.

Pastors and others will treasure this volume.
