GREG SPECK

Moody Publishers, 251 Pages, Paper, $12.99

Here’s a book for teenagers to read concerning sexual issues that they face (though parents could profit from reading the book too). Speck takes a conservative Biblical approach to the various items discussed, including sensitive topics such as premarital sex and pregnancy, pornography, masturbation, homosexuality, kissing, touching, oral sex, incest, and abortion.

The author devotes a chapter to girls only and a chapter to guys only, both focusing on a proper and improper view of the opposite sex. Another chapter is for those who have already “gone too far.” Still another chapter deals with purity, either how to maintain it or how to regain it. Other material covered includes a Biblical view on waiting until marriage for sex, and the positives of sex within marriage. A chapter on what other teens say challenges to readers to learn from the mistakes of others. The last chapter of the book explains the way of salvation, making the book an evangelistic tool.

Each chapter ends with thought-provoking questions. This book may answer a lot of questions that searching and often misled young people may have. Such questions are best answered by parents; this book could be the tool a parent needs to bring up important subjects.
