ANNIE CHAPMAN and HEIDI CHAPMAN BEALL, Harvest House, 222 Pages, Paper, $11.99

Interestingly, the idea for this book came not from a woman but from a man, Heidi’s father-in-law, so the ideas for hospitality are helpful to both wife and husband, and to the whole family. The book opens with two chapters that remind readers of the joys and blessings of opening one’s home. Then
come the many ideas, from preparing for company to tempting recipes to “hospicasualties” (you can find out what these are). Seasonal and special occasions like weddings are also covered.
The chapter “To Do or Not to Do” is a handy list of things to remember in entertaining guests. The book ends with “The Greatest Invitation”—trusting Christ as Savior.
