Washington-Cotner_INWASHINGTON, Iowa—Prairie Flower Baptist Church has called David Cotner as pastor. He accepted the church’s call on Nov. 10. He follows the leadership of Pastor Don Collings, who retired after serving the church for 13 years.

David is an Iraq War veteran, having served in the U.S. Army from 2006 to 2010. Currently he is finishing a degree from Faith Baptist Bible College, Ankeny, Iowa; he is majoring in pastoral studies with a minor in Greek. He says his greatest passion is preaching the gospel, and his two greatest earthly treasures are his wife, Heather, and their daughter, Ann-Marie.

Heather holds a BS in nursing and is a registered nurse in Des Moines. She says her greatest passion is caring for people, and she enjoys crafts, cooking, and spending time with her family.

This ministry will be the first for David and Heather, and they are looking forward to what God will do in and through His people. They will begin serving full-time on June 1, 2014.
