Dr. Joseph M. Stowell: Home with the Lord

Dr. Joseph M. Stowell, former GARBC National Representative, went home to be with the Lord at the age of 96 on Saturday evening, June 23, 2007. God used Dr. Stowell’s Biblical preaching, his reverence for his Lord, and his respect for pastoral ministry to strengthen the faith of countless pastors within our Fellowship and beyond.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Corabelle; three children, Hannah (Clifton) Jensen of Hampton, Tennessee, Margaret (R. William) Wheeler of Cedarville, Ohio, Joseph M. (Martha Bennett) Stowell III of South Elgin, Illinois; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph M. and Gertrude Faxon Stowell, as well as a sister, Ruth Elizabeth Stowell.

A memorial service for family and friends will be held on Monday, June 25, 2007, at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel at Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream, Illinois.
